The Waterloo Region Immigrant Employment Network (WRIEN) was not a typical program, nor an immigrant employment organization designed to help individual immigrants find work. Instead, it was a network designed to create the conditions that would make successful immigrant employment more likely. WRIEN did that by having diverse stakeholders working together in different and innovative ways.
As of August 1, 2011 the community initiative called WRIEN has integrated within the broader Immigration Partnership. The Partnership, hosted by the Region of Waterloo Municipality is now carrying over the challenging role of changing the system of immigrant employment in our region.
