The Mentorship Program is a coaching program that matches a skilled or professional Canadian (mentor) with an internationally trained professional (mentee) for a four month period (mentorship). The mentee is able to strengthen his/her sector specific English skills, be coached on workplace customs/operations and develop meaningful networks that can lead to meaningful employment.

The program will provide loans up to $5,000.00 based on the merits of a career plan that will assist and support the immigrant applicant in securing work in their respective field but not always at the same level they were at in their homeland prior to immigrating to Canada. The loans will assist with upgrading, assessment and other credential recognition needs.
The lead partner is the Working Centre and Libro Financial is the lead lending partner.

The program will match internationally trained professionals with local employers providing paid workplace placements to match the immigrants skill sets to the employers needs for a four month period. The immigrant enhances his/her workplace English, gains Canadian experience and develops networks and usually a letter of reference to compliment their job search.

A forum involving immigrants, employers, HR professionals, WRIEN team members and credential granting organizations is planned for March 2009 to discuss credential recognition progress, issues and new initiatives.
