Immigrant Tools and Support
Immigrant employment support initiatives were developed and delivered by WRIEN and/or its service provider agency partners to assist immigrants in becoming job ready, developing meaningful networks and gaining Canadian experience leading to skill relevant employment in a timely manner. They are as follows:
Mentorship Program
The Mentorship Program is a coaching program that matches a skilled or professional Canadian (mentor) with an internationally trained professional (mentee) for a four month period (mentorship). To know more about this program please click here
Internship Program
The program will match internationally trained professionals with local employers providing paid workplace placements to match the immigrants skill sets to the employers needs for a four month period. To know more about this program please click here
Newcomer Loan Program
The loan program assists newcomers with upgrading, assessment and other credential recognition needs by providing loans up to $5,000.00 based on the merits of a career plan. To know more about this program please click here
