The Waterloo Region Immigrant Employment Network (WRIEN) has been integrated within the broader Immigration Partnership as of August 1, 2011.  WRIEN’s key employer engagement activities will continue, though some components may be refocused or adjusted to ensure maximum effectiveness and efficiency.

The mandate of the Immigration Partnership is to help facilitate the successful settlement and integration of immigrants into all aspects of life here in Waterloo Region.  The goals of the Immigration Partnership are:

• To improve access to and coordination of services/programs that facilitates immigrant settlement and integration.
• Partner with and respond to the needs of employers in the Region to improve  access to the labour market for immigrants.
• To strengthen awareness and the capacity of Waterloo Region to integrate increasing numbers of immigrants.
